Appointment setting for a dental practice
For a dental practice this is not calling consumers. Cold calling households about dental treatment is legally awkward and commercially worse. What works is calling businesses around the practice: employers with 20 to 200 staff and no dental benefit relationship, HR contacts about a lunch and learn, gyms and salons for cross referral, and general dentists in the area if you are a specialist.
Specialists get the most from it. An oral surgeon or endodontist with somebody calling twenty general practices a month to book a fifteen minute visit with the referring doctor sees it in the referral log inside a quarter.
The mistake is asking for the sale. The ask is a short meeting or a lunch, and nothing else. A referring doctor will take a coffee visit and will never take a pitch.
Two weeks in, working looks like 200 to 400 dials, ten to twenty conversations with a decision maker, and three to six meetings on the calendar.
